Family Services

Think of Aging Solutions as your family's personal consumer advocate. In the same way that consumer advocates watch out for bad deals in the retail product marketplace, Aging Solutions watches out for your family in the complex marketplace of aging services.

IN this arena, you may find insurance and managed-care corporations denying services they've contracted to provide; nursing homes refusing admission arbitrarily; and healthcare providers breaking rules about post-operative care and rehabilitation. Organizations will try to take advantage of you and your family, knowing that the system is complex, and that you are vulnerable—emotionally and otherwise. And in these times of government budget-cutting and privatization, rules change constantly, baffling even the most sophisticated of consumers.

Aging Solutions knows this territory well, and will navigate it with you, in partnership with your family.

How it works

After your call or email, we set up an initial consultation. We do this as quickly as possible, especially if you're heading toward a crisis. Consultations can be done in person, by phone or by conference call with several family members participating from around the country.

We set up a plan for you and your family. This may be very simple, or you may need us to devise and and administer a detailed care management plan for your older relative, putting into place home-care services, then monitoring the quality of that care. In effect, we act as your eyes and ears, giving you peace of mind, although you may be many miles away.

In many cases, all your family will need is some coaching about how to work the system — what you need to say and to whom you need to say it. In other words, a little education. Aging Solutions seeks above all to educate—how our systems for our aging relatives work, what can be done about them, and how to get the best results for your family.
